Jennifer Hughes

After spending ten years in Archaeology, Jennifer decided to hang up her trowel and boots ten years ago to join forces with Trevor and grow his painting business into a larger scale renovation and construction company. Jennifer has exceptional Project Management and Project Coordinator skills from years of coordinating large scale excavations and mitigations between local First Nations, Government, and Land Owners. She now applies these skills to managing construction and renovation projects and is the first point of contact for all clients.

Jennifer has a keen eye for detail, design, colours, and textures, and a fierce ability to make your home both functional and unique. She can help with creative solutions for storage, creating safe kitchens for families, recommending durable yet stylish products that can stand the test of time. Jennifer prides herself in understanding clients’ budgets and limitations and knows how to stretch a budget without sacrificing quality.

Jennifer personal design loves are Mid-Century Modern, Scandinavian, and Minimalist.

When not working, she volunteers as a crisis & trauma responder with the B.C Crisis Centre, sits as an Executive Director for her neighbourhood Residents’ Association, enjoys dinner with great friends, and shuttling her son around to various sport practices!

Trevor Hughes

In 2007, Trevor decided to give up his suit and office to work for himself. Starting from a small owner-operator painting company, Trevor built NovaWest into a full interior renovation and construction company. Drawing from skills he was was taught as a child in rural Nova Scotia, Trevor has always had the drive and passion to work with his hands. Never afraid to get dirty and creative, Trevor brings renovation and construction projects to life!

As an Operations Management Graduate from BCIT and ongoing Professional Development Programs, Trevor draws on his real-life knowledge and taught professional standards to provide exceptional home improvements for our clients. He has a keen eye for problem solving, creative solutions, and functionality.

Outside of work, you will find Trevor in the garage working on some type of personal project with his young son, watching Star Trek, or enjoying a good craft beer.
